pcAnywhere connection/display issues

I need a solution

Hi,

I've been using pcAnywhere for years. Used it to remote into cleints PC's and Servers. Currently using version 12.5.5 build 1208.

pcAnywhere worked flawlessly with Windows XP. Never had an issue.

Since Windows 7 has come out, there have been issues with the Host screen display looking scambled or the host system becoming unresponsive. I don't have any issues getting connected, but soemtimes I can only work for a few minutes before the Host becomes unresponsive and I have to end the session and then reconnect. Ot the Host screen is unreadable because it is scrambled.

I have gone through the suppoert sites and applied the suggestions

1. Disabled the Mirror Driver.

2. Disabled Aero Peek

3. Tweak the refresh rate when not using the Mirror Driver.

Basically I applied these Reg hacks:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM]
"EnableAeroPeek"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Symantec\pcAnywhere\CurrentVersion\Host]
"UseEchoDriver"=dword:00000001
"ActiveWindowScanning"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\awecho]
"Start"=dword:00000004

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\awecho\Device0]
"MirrorDriver"=dword:00000001

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

pcAnywhere works better but still not flawlessly.

1st, is there something that I did that was wrong?

2nd, Is there anything else that can be done to help fix the problem?

Thanks.
