I am trying to capture and image using GhostCast Server for the Dell E7440 AIO. Normally on these newer Dell systems I have to install the drivers for the network card as part of the WinPE 4.0. I have added all the Intel drivers for the I219-LM to the environment and also tried using drvload from a command prompt to do it manually. I cannot get the network card to come online. I have tried loading just about every version of this network driver without success. Any ideas or things to try?

Hello,

I just upgraded our Altiris infrastructure during the weekend.

From CMS 7.5HFx to 8.0HF1 and during the night, the identity account started to lock pretty badly.

To help, I wrote a little powershell to unlock it until I find the solution. The script is currently unlocking every 1 second.

We have 115 PS and about 19000 clients.

I did not change the account password or anything.

I know that the agent and plug-ins deployment is still in progress when I look the database.

Anyone has a clue?

I need a solution

I am trying to create an image of a Linux 6.7 OS with the 3.1 Suite.

I am able to create an image, but it takes ~2 hours to create. It seems like it is making a bit-for-bit image instead of compressing the image. The image I created was ~400GB large! I was expecting to see a ~4GB image size that takes 5-10 minutes to create.

I am wondering if the system file type has any bearing on the image creation... such as xfs vs. ext4. Does xfs slow ghost down?

Are there certain settings to select, in the Boot Disk Creator, for Linux images?

Some guidence with setting up, and creating, a Ghost boot disk would be greatly appreciated.

I need a solution

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to save an empty value with AD components.

For example:

read telephone number with Get User Details -component
on a Workflow -form delete the phone number
save the phone number with empty value using the Update User -component
read telephone number with Get User Details -component
the phone number is the same as it was before

All I can figure is to create an after and before User -variable and then compare if there are any fields that needs to be cleared and then set the field value to single space character, but somehow that seems like too much effort for a such a basic thing,

Has anyone struggled with the same problem before?

Just installed G3.1 manged to log onot Ghost the the PXE server, once I restarted the server the PXE servcies fail to start get Error 1068 dependency service or group failed can't find any resolution has anybody had this issue befroe.

Work Resolve Task not always created for on Incident Create

We have had about 15 instances of this issue.

We use the /SD.Feeder.TechnicianIncidentForms/Form.aspx? form to create all of our Incidents
The incident Gets created and the Ruleset [OnIncidentReceived] was executed

but there is never a WorkResolveTaskID value set in the ImIncidentTicket table in the process manager database.

So basically we have an IM without a task to work. We can't edit, use smart tasks, or click on teh little green arrow, because there is no task associated with it.

So the only thing i have been able to figure out is to manually delete the IM from the database (using sql i got from someone on these conenct fourms), then have the ticket submitted again.

In the error logs for ProcessManager i see the following that seems to coorelate

[WorkflowTasks] Error loading task.

I was able to pass to the normal fields, but I'm not able to get a resource association like location.

Hi all,

We have started setting up computers and jobs in Ghost Solution Suite 3.0, making images for some Windows 10 deployments that are going to be coming up right away and we found out from our Microsoft rep about the new Provisioning Packages feature in Windows 10 that is supposed to remove the need for imaging, but instead makes it sound like is just going to be messing with our MAK and KMS activation counts each time we need to redeploy an image to a machine. Is anybody dealing with issues imaging Windows 10 machines that use a KMS server? Anything different than in years past? Is the Provisioning Packages feature something that we can use with Ghost Solution Suite or are there any options in Ghost Solution Suite 3.0 to combine the two effectively?

I am using gn Symentic.cloud - EndPoint Protection. NIS.NIS-22.5.4.24 and Symantec. Cloud – Cloud Agent 2.03.71.2618

Once when I inserted my pen drive, Smentec detected virus. Quarantine all the files & folder in the pen drive. Unfortunately my mistake I cleared entry in the View Quarantine

In Windows explore show the pen drive empty. When I check the property of the pen drive, it shows folder & file size properly.

I tried to copy the files to HDD using Xcopy. It copies all the files and folder to HDD. But still I am unable to see the file in HDD.

Can you please help to restore the files & Folders.

Anyone have any luck getting PXE boot images working with the NIC on the Lenovo T460? It uses the I219-LM driver. I've imported every single one I could locate (from Lenovo and Intel) for Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 utilizing x64 which we typically do when we upload new driver support for WinPE. Any help is appreciated!

I am trying to capture a Windows 7 x86 image using the Capture Ghost Image within Altiris, however it keeps failing with the following error:

ErrorMessage: The Exception have occured in Client Imaging Task. Exception has occured in function SMPPackage.cpp() at Line No 233. Type of exception is GeneralError. Error is callDSPSInfoOperationService()have failed. Return XML is =. Error from HttpGet = HTTP error occured. Error Description is utilCSMPPackagecallDSPSInfoOperationService. Value of Windows error code = 6 and message is The handle is invalid.

Is anyone able to help fix this error?

I need a solution

Looking for any shops that have a Cisco network, with a Nexus 7000 core and various Cisco switches ranging from 3560G to C4500. We have seen imaging times decline (for a 30GB image) from under an hour to four to five hours. Currently we are testing deployment from two sources:

Deployment Solution 6.9 sp6 deploying Windows 7.1 and 10 images (using Rdeploy and yes I know that's legacy stuff)

Client Mangement Suite 8.0 deploying Windows 7.1 and 10 images (using Ghost--12.0.0.7250)

Speeds for both setups are consistent and consistently slow.

Our Cisco guy wants to reach out to anyone with a Cisco network and using either of these deployment tools and using them with acceptable speeds.

Diagnostics of both network and servers show all is good but obviously all is not.

I've used the "Write Object to XML" and "Read Object from XML" components in the past.

I can't see an equivalent for JSON. Does such a thing exist?

I know some of the generators can parse json from external web services but what if I want to serialize/de-serialize within my workflow?
